Stretching along the waterfront for three kilometers, Woodbine beach has a variety of activities for every beach-goer. The west side that curves around Ash Bridges Bay holds over 90 beach volleyball courts. Most of these courts are managed by Ash Bridges Bay Volleyball Association, who host multiple volleyball leagues for different ages and skill levels. Even with all the volleyball courts the beach still has plenty of sand for other activities, and when you’re ready cool off you can visit the Donald D. Summerville Olympic pool or swim in the lake. Woodbine Beach has been designated a blue beach since 2005, which means approved for swimming, with lifeguards at red towers along the shore.
From the popular Boardwalk Pub to the beachside Tiki-hut you will never go hungry or be thirsty during your day at the beach. There are no lockers but there are washrooms and change rooms near the volleyball courts.
There is limited street parking along the beach, and although there is a parking lot next to the Boardwalk Pub many choose to bike or take the TTC. To get to the beach you can either take the 92 south from Woodbine station or the 64 southbound to Queen street and walk about 10 minutes to the beach. Â
