Kew-Balmy Beach

Situated between Silver Birch Avenue and Kew Gardens, this beach connects to the east side of Woodbine beach, separated by an off leash, fenced in dog park. Along this beach you will find the boardwalk and the Martin Goodman trail; a great bike path for any age. The beach itself is soft sand with pebbles close to the shore that spread out deeper into the water. Every 200 meters, cement rock clumps stretch out into the lake to preserve the narrow beach, and they are great for climbing. Red lifeguard towers can be seen dotting the shoreline in between the artist busy at work to stack rocks.

The beachfront snack bar and seasonal ice rink are in between Kew Gardens Park and the boardwalk. Further down the beach, the well-known Balmy Beach Club sits, along with its volleyball posts, at the foot of Beech Avenue. The Club is well known for its decorated rugby and paddling teams. If relaxation is more your style, you can relax on their outdoor patio over-looking the beach with a pint. There are also washrooms further east of the club, and a small snack bar or the west side.

Parking along the beach is very limited so biking or public transit is preferable. To get to Kew-Balmy beach, hop on the 64 Main to Queen southbound on the 501 Streetcar eastbound until you are past Woodbine.
