Located on the east bank of Etobicoke Creek, where the Creek meets lake Ontario. The beach is named after Marie Curtis, who worked to have the park built and there is a plaque commemorating her efforts. Before the hurricane, Hazel hit in 1954 and destroyed 40 homes and killed 6 people, the community near the beach was called Long Branch. To avoid a reoccurrence, the remaining houses were moved away from the shore and the land near the beach was designated parkland. Children love the park and there is plenty of greenery for all ages.
The beach is close to the waterfront trail and then wraps around the creek. The beach meets provincially established safety regulations for swimming but recently has had high levels of E. coli.
