Reverberations & Resonances: Zucchi/Tenney/Griffin

Reverberations & Resonances: Zucchi/Tenney/Griffin

309 309 people viewed this event.

In partnership with Array Space, David Zucchi presents a performance of James Tenney’s seminal 1978 work, Saxony for saxophones and tape-delay, alongside the world premiere of Paolo Griffin’s The Purpose of an Empty Room for solo alto saxophone and electronics.

Griffin’s work was conceived as a companion piece to Saxony, and both works explore the boundaries of intonation, indeterminacy, and the interaction between performance and technology.

Griffin’s work was written through close collaboration with Zucchi and was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
